![]() Fast ForwardSo here I am today. I have begun a new chapter of my life. I feel blessed as I have felt all my life. I have everything I need – a loving family, great friends and once again, my health. I feel fortunate to be able to share my story and to be given the opportunity to make my ONERUN dream a reality. My team is made up of some of the most incredible people who never wavered, who, in fact volunteered their time, energy and expertise. Running 100 kms will be tough again in 2011, I know, but no tougher than dealing with breast cancer. And as I did when I was ‘sick’ I will get through it with the love of my family and friends. I am able to run again, something I feared I may have had to give up. I am able to live again and because of that I believe it is my responsibility to give back. I have recently been asked, why do this, why now? I am ready and it is my time to do something for "the Cause." A couple of years ago, I asked myself "why me?" Today the answer has been made clear. For me ONERUN is a lesson to learn. Our children can see that anything is possible and that one person can make a difference. And that is my story … at least so far!! |
