(London, Ontario) – On Thursday, July 11 at GoodLife Fitness Home Office, ONERUN announced their 2019 fundraising total. ONERUN raised an organization record-setting $208,792 in this year’s campaign, with money going to cancer patient care programs offered through Wellspring London, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Care.

The 2019 campaign included both school ONERUN events in May, as well as the return of Theresa Carriere’s 100km run, in one day on June 14. This is the fifth time Carriere has accomplished this incredible feat, with ‘Runners of Hope’ by her side along the route. Participating 2019 host schools included Westminster, Banting, Parkside (St. Thomas), Sir Wilfred Laurier, Strathroy District Collegiate Institute, Regina Mundi, Clarke Road, North Middlesex, St. Andre Bessette, John Paul II, H.B. Beal and St. Theresa elementary school. In teams of ten, thousands of student completed 100 kms around the track throughout their school day. Some secondary schools were joined by elementary feeder schools, alumni and community members.

Since it’s inception in 2010, ONERUN has raised an incredible $1,288,740. What began with cancer survivor and ONERUN Founder/Executive Director, Theresa Carriere, running 100 kms in one day, has evolved into a full community effort to honour those who have lost their battle to cancer and to support those who continue to fight.

“Because of the very generous contributions of so many, ONERUN funds will be able to support programs at Wellspring, LHSF and St. Joe’s hospital that serve those affected by cancer”, Carriere stated. “The ONERUN team is grateful to our ONERUN schools, sponsors, volunteers and the many who donated. ONERUN will continue to work for those in need with integrity, care and compassion. Today is a tremendous celebration for our community because together we give hope!”
