Hi, we're ONERUN!
ONERUN was founded by Theresa Carriere in 2010, and hasn't looked back since. In 2018, we raised our millionth dollar and are excited for the next eight years of helping cancer patients #FightTogether.
Cancer strikes the
Carriere home — 2007
In April 2007, Theresa Carriere went for her routine annual physical. And although she was only 43 years old with no history of breast cancer in her family, she insisted on a mammogram. Within a few weeks after, she received a call from her doctor to start treatment resulting in a double mastectomy.
The first 100km run.
A journey starts - 2010
Theresa ran 100km from London to Sarnia in one day. She and the ONERUNteam raised an incredible $180,000 for breast cancer research during their first year.
The second run.
New record! - 2011
Theresa ran another 100km in one day on June 10, 2011. Running this time from Sarnia to London raising a new record of $200,000 for Breast Cancer research.
Third time's a charmer!
Third 100km day - 2014
Theresa completes her third 100km treck, this time to support Cancer Care programs that assist cancer patients and their families. Theresa was joined at every km by someone within the community who would #RunForTheirSomeone and show their support and give tribute to their loved ones.
Fourth #RunForYourSomone - 2015
Theresa runs for the fourth time between Sarnia and London in one day. ONERUN's momentum has grown with hundreds of supporters across the province. More dollars are raised to support those who need it most and Theresa continues to visit schools to spread the word. Motivating students to reach their potentials and inspiring them to be community leaders within their communities. Her message of "From Challenge to Triumph" inspires thousands.
ONERUN Week Launched - 2017
The first ever ONERUN week is launched in London, Ontario. Together with the ONERUNteam, John Paul II and Justin Tiseo, ONERUNtakes on a whole new look and pivots. High Schools across London host their own ONERUN event to raise funds for cancer programs. Westminster, St. Thomas Aquinas, St. André Bessette and Clarke Road joined John Paul II to raise over $100,000 for Wellspring. The event involved over 3,000 staff and students, in teams of 10, completing 100kms of their own.
The $1 million mark!
ONERUN Week Grows - 2018
ONERUN Week grows to ten schools in southwestern Ontario. Ten schools in ten days join forces to battle against cancer to help ONERUNraise its millionth dollar donated since ONERUN's inception. Again, the event directly raised funds for Cancer Care Programs at Wellspring and area hospitals. Additionally, ONERUNWeek 2018 reached over 1 million people across the country in the two weeks.
