My name is David Hill, In 2013 I was having some strange results with some blood tests. I was sent to the Regional Cancer Center in London for tests. The tests showed that I had some form of cancer developing. I was in denial as I felt great and was a marathon runner. They told me to come back if I developed certain symptoms. In January of 2015 I started to feel unwell and went back to the Cancer Centre. They started treatment for stage 4 Non-Hodgins Lymphoma which meant I had it in my blood, bones, cells and skin. I guess I shouldn’t have waited. There is no cure but it can be managed. I took treatments from February 2015 to July 2017. I am in remission and get my blood checked every 6 months. I continued to run during treatments when I felt ok and it seemed to put me in my happy place and have a positive attitude. I have run several runs and even qualified for and ran Boston in 2017. My motto is and always will be …..NEVER GIVE UP.
