I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2012. Needless to say, along with many others I was shocked, but more so I felt like I had been kicked in the gut. I also have a genetic Eye disorder, which has left me legally blind. My thoughts were I had been given enough to deal with in my life.
The type of Breast Cancer I was diagnosed with was non-invasive, which if you are going to have Breast cancer, it was a good one to have. I had a mastectomy and underwent 6 weeks of radiation treatment.
Although I have been Cancer free for many years, there are long-lasting effects of having any type of Cancer. Anxiety and fear of Cancer returning is always looming.
When I met Theresa I was so inspired by her determination to help others who are going or have gone through Cancer. I am honoured that she has chosen me to be part of her journey.
