I feel extremely privileged to participate as one of the 9 local cancer survivors to join Theresa on her epic 100km journey. My journey began 4 years ago when I found out totally by chance that cancer would become a part of my life. From start to today, I have had the best care through the London Regional Cancer clinic and their awesome staff. Plus, my supportive spouse and friends are always there for me.

A day does not go by that I do not think about my journey and how lucky I am to be here and ultimately to participate in June with ONERUN.

Prior to cancer, I was a dedicated marathon runner and had completed one in each of the 50 states have completed this by the time I turned 50 years old, hence my license plate of 50 BY 50. In fact, the year before being diagnosed, I completed my first full Ironman Triathlon. That May day of diagnosis 4 years ago certainly changed my family’s and my life, but not my spirit. Athletically, things have changed, but so have priorities. Live life happy, don’t get stressed as much and take things in stride are the way to go. Sure, I worry every 6 months with my check-ups, but great so far. In fact, 2 months after running with Theresa, I am planning on running another full Ironman Triathlon and am looking forward to the year ahead of training.

It is with great pride that I undertake this 2020 journey with ONERUN.
